He was also a mentor and educator and with others helping to create the paramedic program Virtua Health has today.

Neal had served the Camden County/South Jersey area for decades as both a Virtua Health paramedic and also a volunteer firefighter for Voorhees Township and had a direct hand in saving countless lives.

He had also served our state as a paramedic with the New Jersey Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team and responded to the disaster in New York City on 9/11 and the days following. It sadly was answering this call that would ultimately lead to his passing, due to his exposure to toxins at Ground Zero.

Neal was that helper in the chaos wherever he went, a trait he instilled in his daughters to carry on.
