1 , made the ultimate sacrifice on this day, October 11, 1967.

While operating at a working fire at the Van Sciver Mansion, which is now the Westmont Plaza Shopping Center, Firefighter DiPaolo was buried by the sudden collapse of a brick wall. He was immediately dug out by fellow firefighters but despite their heroic efforts, Daniel passed away shortly after his arrival at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden.

Sadly, Firefighter Daniel DiPaolo became the second member of Westmont Fire Company to make the ultimate sacrifice and give his life to this community in the line of duty.
