Winter Storms Make For A Busy Wednesday

Shortly after Lunchtime on Wednesday a heavy snowstorm rolled throughout the region and brought blinding snowfall and heavy winds. Crews responded to over 30 Emergencies throughout the day and early evening. Numerous trees and wires came down due to the weight of the snow in addition to the winds. Winter Storm Safety

With the pending snowfall expected to start this morning through the afternoon, we would like to remind everyone to park their vehicles off the street and keep travel to a minimum. This helps us in the event of an emergency, and most importantly helps Haddon Township Public Works properly clear the snow from the streets.

Is there a fire hydrant in front of your home or your neighbor's home? In the event of a fire emergency, could firefighters find the hydrant near your home?

We are encouraging residents to "adopt a fire hydrant" near their home and keep snow shoveled away and vegetation trimmed back. This will ensure hydrants are visible and will greatly speed the response time in case of an emergency.
